About the Program

Harris School of Business offers a certificate in dental assisting. In a short amount of time, graduates can take advantage of the growing number of jobs for dental assistants. The program is intended to make its graduates competitive, with skills and knowledge needed to hit the ground running in their career.
Harris’ program provides students with a knowledge base in dental anatomy, pathology and terminology. They will also learn about technology, including materials and equipment needed for today’s dental practices. Students also are required to undergo extensive hands-on training, including equipment sterilization and preparation, taking xrays and others. Business practices is also part of the curriculum, giving students conofidence at the front desk. A mandatory externship will give the student real-life experience in a dental office, where they can practice the skills they learned in the classroom and laboratory.

After graduation, Harris School of Business continues to support the graduates with job search assistance and job placement.

Accreditation

Of the seven campuses Harris School operates, three are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), one gets accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET) and the remaining three, including the one that offers the dental assisting program are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). All these accrediting organizations are recognized by the U.S. Board of Education.
